  • Always Hydrate
  • Drinking water is essential for overall health and there are many benefits of being well-hydrated. Consuming enough water every day allows cells to absorb nutrients better, keeps organs functioning properly, and prevents infections. Staying hydrated can also improve your quality of sleep, cognitive functioning, and mood. Feel free to drink more than the old rule of 8 glasses of water every day. New research actually recommends drinking between11-15 cups of water every day. 

  • Eat Nutrient-Dense Foods
  • It’s always a great idea to be eating plenty of fruits and vegetables. Fruits and veggies are loaded with nutrients, vitamins, and antioxidants. Variety is key, so mix it up! When we sleep, the body repairs cells, replenishes energy, and releases important hormones and proteins. Additionally, while we sleep our brain processes new information and reorganizes cells to support cognitive function. Sleep is a huge contributor to a healthy immune system and mood.

  • Staying optimistic not only feels good but also has huge health benefits. Stress has an extremely harmful impact on the body. During stressful times, often the immune system is at its weakest. Having a positive mindset can help the body reduce this tension. Research is also finding links between a positive outlook with a longer life, lower levels of depression, and stronger resistance to the common cold.
